Subject: Map Ins With 3.01 Shell and Path Statement
Date: December 14, 1990

PROBLEM: A customer had upgraded his shell to the 3.01 version and
was having problems using the MAP INSERT command in his
login script. He was using XMSNET. Upon login he would get
the following error message:
The following drive mapping operation could not be completed
"ins s1:=f/s1/sys:public" error code 000A.
He tried going back to the v2.15c shell and still had the
same problems. If he removed the PATH statement in his
AUTOEXEC.BAT, the problem went away.
SOLUTION: After exploring many manuals, the customer found a way to
fix the problem. He increased his environment space in his
CONFIG.SYS file. He also noted that long subdirectory names
in the path statement take up more environment space than
short names do.
Anytime you make a change to the programs you are loading
you may have to increase your DOS environment space.
